In 1964, the wealthiest of the elites paid a 77% tax on income over $2.1 million (after inflation).

In 2026, the wealthiest pay a 37% tax on income over $626,000.

We need to make the rich pay their fair share and bring back the tax brackets from the Pre-Reagan Administration.

In the modern era, access to things like electricity and electricity are necessary for the current job market. Providing cheap options for affordable internet will allow struggling Vermonters the opportunity to work here and make a living wage.

~20% of Vermont Homes are vacant at some point throughout the year. People who’s primary residence isn’t Vermont are buying up housing in our beautiful state, just to rent back to us for a profit.

By increasing the Property Tax on Out of State homeowners, we will be able to reduce the Property Tax burden primary homeowners are feeling.

Healthcare should be a human right and given to all. No one deserves to be forced into homelessness because of an unexpected hospital bill. Giving the basic standard of care to everyone will reduce healthcare costs by up to 15% and will cut out the middleman from our hospitals.

Programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and the VA have shown that it is, not only possible, but effective to give people the healthcare they need.

The only input in your healthcare should be between you and your healthcare provider. The inclusion of unnecessary middlemen has hiked healthcare costs to pad C-Suites pockets. We need to take back our right to quality healthcare. I will ensure that the only people getting a say in your quality of care are the people that matter!

Too often do we make progress in Human and Civil Rights just for them to be revoked or threatened during the next legislative period. Roe v. Wade, Birthright Citizenship, Refugee Admission, DEI, etc…

We can not make progress without ensuring protections for all. The leaps and bounds that Vermont is known for need to be enshrined and guaranteed for generations. No one should have to live in fear that their rights might disappear within the next 4 years.

Citizens have the right to know if they’re being stopped by a Law Enforcement Officer or if they’re being kidnapped by a masked man with a van.

Requiring Local, State, and Federal Law Enforcement Officers in Vermont clearly identify themselves and not wear facial coverings or disguises (outside of certain hazardous situations) should be the standard. This is safer for citizens as they will now know who is talking to them and how they should respond. This is also safer for officers as many Vermonters carry guns and will not hesitate to defend themselves from a kidnapper.

There are many locations that we want people to feel safe and secure. Places like, Schools, Hospitals, Libraries, State Buildings, Court Rooms, and Churches/Places of Worship. While in these locations, one should not be fearful of being arrested for a civil crime.

I have been extremely vocal of my support of Act 150 and will continue to fight for citizen’s freedoms.

Technology is evolving faster than anyone is prepared for. We need to be regulating it’s development and ensuring people’s safety and privacy as it progresses.

Data Centers are notoriously under regulated, and if we hold off any longer it will be too late. Unregulated Data Centers pollute our waters, steal electricity, can be heard from a mile away, and destroy local economies and ecosystems.

As technology advances, so does our means to protect our environment. As methods of dealing with PFAS are developed and improved, I believe we will be able to stop our lake from being polluted with leachate and PFAS.

Keeping Lake Memphremagog clean is extremely important to me, and one of my TOP priorities.

There are too many unnecessary hurdles and barriers to reducing your home electric bill. We need to make it easier to help the environment and reduce our reliance on non-renewable energy sources.

How would I be able to represent Newport City without giving everyone an opportunity to voice their concerns year round. The job of a representative doesn’t end when the legislative season is over.

As representative, I will make a commitment to holding a “Coffee Hour” on the first Saturday of every month. I want to give the working class a voice and being available on the weekends is an important first step.

Face to face communication isn’t always what is needed. I am also extremely responsive to email and text messages.

I will fight to implement Ranked-Choice Voting. I am sick of having to vote for the “Least Worst” option because voting for my candidate would be a waste of a vote. Many politicians do not support Ranked-Choice Voting because they got elected in the current system and would prefer to abuse that.

I can assure you, I want to fix these systems, not abuse them. We can fix this. As VPIRG states, “Ranked choice voting makes our democracy work better. It’s a simple way to ensure that elections are fair for all and that winners have the support of a majority of voters.”

Citizens United is corrupting our elections and turning our democracy into an Oligarchy. States like Montana and Hawaii have made amazing strides towards getting money out of politics and Vermont should follow stride.

Building a home, improving your property, obtaining citizenship, registering your vehicle are all things that thousands of people have to go through everyday. There is no good reason for these processes to be so convoluted, so time consuming, and so expensive.

The cumulative amount of money, time, and energy wasted trying to get these simple tasks done is frustrating to witness and completely unnecessary.

Education is expensive, but making schools harder to attend is not the solution. There are outside solutions to this increasingly costly problem that doesn’t punish our students for wanting to learn.

Many of the programs and projects listed above should help our students consistently make it to class and bring Vermont back to being a top state for education.
