Affordable and Inviting

I will do everything in my power to make Vermont as affordable and inviting as possible. This means a state that pays a living wage, proudly displays it’s culture, and is a financially responsible place to retire. With a focus on home ownership, public safety, and culture, I will be able to show Vermont that Newport City is an inviting, cultural hotspot.

Justice, Equality, and Belonging

Every citizen has a right to feel welcome and safe in Vermont. While Vermont is rated lowest in racial & ethnic diversity, I have always prided myself in our inclusion and acceptance of other cultures and peoples. It is not easy, but with a good amount of work, I hope to make everyone in Vermont feel accepted and welcome.

A Beautiful State with an Environmental Impact

The trees and landscapes of the NEK often amaze out-of-staters. I still remember the first time I brought my wife back to my home state and the wonder she had as her phone’s storage slowly filled with photos of the trees and snow. We are able to preserve that natural beauty while protecting the earth, and I intend to do just that.

Healthcare and Food is a Human Right

We must do our best to ensure that Vermonters have access to the supplies they need to survive. Access to affordable healthcare, food, heat, and shelter should be a top priority. There is no kinder community than the people of Newport City. No one here would want someone to go hungry, without medicine or heat, through a Vermont winter and I intend to make sure no one does.

Public Education

An educated community is a happy community and ensuring that children are able to get the teaching they deserve will benefit us all for decades to come. We need to see how funds are allocated to schools and how to ensure that K-12 is a beneficial time for children.
